Sandstone sculpture, 'Majapahit Heir'

Majapahit was one of the most powerful empires on the Asian continent from the 13th to the 15th century. It encompassed all of present-day Indonesia as well as parts of Malaysia. The Majapahit maintained diplomatic relations with China, Champa, Cambodia, Annam and Siam (Thailand) through the 15th century, when feuds within the royal family led to the empire's demise. Wayan Kandiyasa pays tribute to the ancient empire with a detailed snadstone sculpture.
